Weird and Wonderful Christmas Robolights

When I think of Palm Springs, California I think of palm trees, swimming pools and movie stars, not bizarre giant robots flickering, singing and dancing through the night. So we were shocked to find hidden among the mid-century modern architecture lives another world of be-bob-boo-beep and fa la la la la … Robolights.

Artist Kenny Irwin started building an “other worldly north pole theme run by robots” at age 12, about 35 years ago. Built of recycled, re-purposed, found art. The display now spans approximately 2 acres and totally surrounds the artist’s home. Here is just a small sample of what we experienced walking through the weird and wonderful world of Robolights.
